Joshua got a special chance to ride in an old Trabant car. It is made out of fiberglass......A real East German car.

The Sarrs

In a few days our normal life here in Germany with change. We love change and we are excited for what is next but we will miss our time here. Here is a little bit of our life here.

Going into Leipzig for dinner or Starbucks was very fun. I can't believe we only have 2 more full days here.

We took a chance eating at a place we have never been called the Nordsee for Joshua to have some fish. We shouldn't have taken that risk. It was expensive and he said it was the worst fish he had ever had.

Josh sometimes plays this piano or the black one in the other room. We are going to miss Lilou and her little German voice.

We will miss the way we always eat potatoes and garlic (Kartoffel und Knoblauch) and for desert apple tea (Apfel Tee) from Haci Baba's.

We will miss our balcony and our cute backyard.

Leftovers.

We will miss Paul.

Our cool balcony door that never shut perfectly.

Last minute Saturday night runs to Lidl because we always forget everything closes on Sundays.

Milka bars and cheap cheap good quality food.

Josh will miss this dear meat.

We will miss hanging out with the Gruen's at their house. Eating good food and having a lot of laughs.

Painting the stairs was fun too and we finished with the first coat of red and some little details around the railing.

I am sure this will happen again if my side of the bed is next to the wall. This is what Josh found next to my side of the bed and I couldn't help but laugh....

This is how the conversation went:

Josh: While making the bed "Faith you have SO much stuff on your side of the bed"

Faith: "No I don't!"

Josh: as he pulls items one by one.... "A water bottle, a whole entire roll of toilet paper, a pen, some paper, your american cell phone, some cords, an external hard drive, a wrapper from a cough drop, your Ipod, the camera charger and a thermometer."

Faith: " I swear, I can explain....I JUST put the electronics there because I was using them with the computer." There was no use trying to explain, that was pretty funny. I just started laughing so hard.

Then we found a few pairs of my socks under the covers.

Silvester (New Years) 2011-2012 in Brandis, Germany

Andres birthday is New Years Eve day. So we had a birthday party and then a Silvester party. I baked a few pies and he had never had a pie before.

Wild Berry pie

Cherry vanilla almond pie

Gina's little sister Lilou

I love this girl! I wish she was still with us. We will see her again before we know it though.

Marlon Gina and Lilou's brother
They all live down the stairs from Andres in the same house.

The kids wanted to play secret agent so I gave them a mission to go upstairs, put 6 pairs of socks on and count the stairs wearing the socks. They counted 40.......

Then they had to drink 2 full glasses of water...

And find something red, white and blue.

We played German/English charades until it was time to go outside for some legal illegal fireworks and the new year.

You have to watch the whole video and just imagine how it was for us. We didn't even want to bring to attention that we have a 4th of July.
