3 Months

This little girl is not a newborn anymore thats for sure. She has been doing so many things that surprise Joshua and I. Like today in Church, she was cooing and squealing at the guy behind us, sticking her tongue out, smiling and scrunching her nose at him. I turned her around to try to get her to stop then she started coughing and farting. I had to just take her out because all eyes were on HER! I laughed so hard I almost cried. Every other church service until today there wasn't so much as a peep out of her.

She plays with my wedding ring when she eats
She can almost grab her monkey but it is more like her just smashing him into her mouth
She gets shy when she smiles and crosses her hands over her face
Her smiles are always open mouth smiles

I can't even tell you how much I am thankful for her. I get to wake up to this sweet little face every morning and see her learn and grow.

In Two Months...Almost Three

In two months, almost three... Joshua and I have been adjusting to being a family instead of just a married couple. I don't know about Joshua but for me the change has not been as big of a task as I thought it would be. You would think that having a baby and then moving two weeks later would put us in the looney bin, but, I have to say that we have been peaceful and happy...more than happy about it all.

With Everly coming into our world Joshua and I found a different more bonding love for each other knowing that WE together are going to raise a tiny girl into an adult that hopefully will love Jesus with all her heart. Seeing Joshua as a Dad is one of my greatest joys. He loves Everly so much even if she hates his beard kisses. Seeing myself as a mother is something I always dreamed about and still day dream about until I snap myself back to reality and realize that I already am a mother and that my long wondered about baby is laying right in front of me.
When I look past the stretch marks, I love everything that comes with being a Mom. There are some hard parts but nothing too hard. Extra laundry is one of them...but I love laundry so who cares? We find ourselves going out and being social more than when we were just two. I can't really think of any negatives just differences.

She is just a happy and easy baby. She cries when she is in need of something and thats about it. She gets fussy at night when she is tired but goes to bed and sleeps soundly usually waking up around 4am for a feeding but lately she has been sleeping 8 or 9 hours through the night. I actually miss her waking up at 4 am because she has a huge smile after she eats and the quiet of the night makes for an un rushed 15 minutes of cuddling.

Not only is she a good baby, she also poops and pees in the toilet which saves me most of the laundry and a lot of clean up. This girl has never had diaper rash and very rarely sits in poop. I will blog about the toilet training in a few later blogs but until then just know it is working well....better than expected.

Here is Everly on her 1 month birthday:
